![]() My research is focused on advancing the field of fluorescence spectroscopy. This involves chemical synthesis of new fluorophores, development of novel fluorescence measurements, development of instrumentation for time-resolved fluorescence, and the chemical applications of fluorescence sensing. Much of this work has resulted in inventions, patents and licensing. My laboratory is also involved in the more advanced topics of multi-photon excitation, in which molecules are excited by the simultaneous absorption of two or more long wavelength photons. Additionally, work is being done on the use of light pulses to control the excited state population and orientation. |
